Picture yourself on top of a camel, trekking through the Moroccan Desert. There is nothing around you and all you can hear are the footsteps of the camel on the soft sand. The sky is vast the heat coming straight from the sun on the corner in the day and filled with millions of bright stars at night…… very peaceful experience and a road trip well worth the effort in which i had fond memories that lasted with me forever.
Some amazing Kasbahs, orange sand dunes, lush fertile oases, and serrated mountain summits fill the vistas. With the grand solitude and silence of the Moroccan Sahara, and nights spent under nomadic tents, with amazing tunes of music I have felt the mysterious power that the desert has always had over the human soul.
You know that feeling when for the million time in a long week or month, the red light comes on in your head (Our bodies and minds do give us signals when they’re running low.). And of course you are busy, as usual, and so you push it a little farther, run just a few more errands. But you know that you do need to stop and refill before too long, or you will be out of energy. When i went to Merzouga i was on the urging red light, in a desperate need to fill in the empty energy tank.
The desert was a voyage through my soul my mind and my body, a pure moment of joy and loneliness, i had the chance to watch the sunrise, the colors were merely mesmerizing, a little slice of heaven, a solennel moment to get deep, question my decisions, my believes, my ideas, an occasion to get along with the little girl hidden withing me, a moment to give a go to your dreams and ambitions. I have lost myself to the vast desert, and start unfolding all the cards beside me, for a big sorting.
Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths ~Etty Hillesum
Often i carve out those moments, eventhough they are brief, but the rewards are worth it. A bit of beautiful solitude rejuvenates and gives the strength needed to go back out and tackle whatever the world has in store for me.
Dont forget to find a moment for yourself and do some maintenance inside?
